Dean Al Hardersen's Biography                

On July 1, 2007, Al Hardersen joined the University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan as its new Dean and CEO.

Hardersen comes to Sheboygan with 30 years of diverse experiences in higher education, including teaching, counseling and administrating in three community colleges in Illinois. For the past 10 years, he has served as the Vice President of Student Services at Joliet Junior College in Joliet, IL, and has served as the college’s administrator in charge for seven years.

Hardersen earned his doctorate and master of science degrees at Northern Illinois University in Adult Continuing Education and Educational Policy, and Community Mental Health Counseling. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Social Work at Augustana College and is a graduate of the Executive Leadership Institute in Costa Mesa, CA.

Hardersen and his wife Shirley have been married for 35 years and have three adult sons and two grandchildren (four-year-old twins).
