University Theatre stages a minimum of two fully realized theatrical productions per year. Supported by students and community members, anyone in the surrounding communities is welcome to audition for shows as well as help with a vast amount of backstage work.

Fall 2012: Becky’s New Car, by Steven Dietz

November 2-3 and Nov. 8-10

All shows at 7 p.m.! Seating is very limited.

Have you ever been tempted to flee your own life? Becky Foster is caught in middle age, middle management and in a middling marriage—with no prospects for change on the horizon. Then one night a socially inept and grief-struck millionaire stumbles into the car dealership where Becky works. Becky is offered nothing short of a new life…and the audience is offered a chance to ride shotgun in a way that most plays wouldn't dare. BECKY'S NEW CAR is a thoroughly original comedy with serious overtones, a devious and delightful romp down the road not taken. Please be aware that because the Fine Arts Theatre will be transformed into a studio theatre for this show, only 50 tickets per show will be available!

Spring 2013: Forbidden Broadway, by Gerard Alessandrini

March, 7, 8 and 9 at 7 p.m.; March 9 and 10 at 2 p.m.

Forbidden Broadway spoofs many of your favorite Broadway musicals, both old and new, including Annie, Wicked, Fiddler on the Roof, and Rent. Crowds will be laughing throughout the evening, enjoying some new -- and only sometimes crude --lyrics to many Broadway classics.
