Benefits of Developmental Math: Despite having greater initial deficiencies in math, students who have successfully taken one or more developmental math courses show comparable performance in later coursework. Successful MAT 091 students have had an average success rate over the last 5 years that equals the average success rate of students that enroll in MAT 105 directly.  Students with developmental course background do show, on an average, overall better grades in MAT 105. Successful developmental math students also enjoy higher cumulative grade point averages than other pre-calculus level math students.
