UW-Sheboygan Fine Arts Theatre Mission Statement
The Fine Arts Theatre at UW-Sheboygan is committed to giving full voice to a wide range of artists and visions. Central to that mission is the promotion of a theatre education whose distinctive visions foster an artistic identity of uncommon richness and variety. By dedicating itself to three guiding principles—quality, diversity, and community—UW-Sheboygan’s Fine Arts Theatre seeks to provide productions and programs that make an essential contribution to the scope and quality of the arts not only in the Sheboygan county area but also to the University of Wisconsin college system.

50th Year of THE FANTASTICKS kickoff in Times Square
Happy 50th Anniversary to
THE FANTASTICKS
The original production of THE FANTASTICKS opened on May 3, 1960 at the Sullivan Street Playhouse - a small theatre in New York’s Greenwich Village. The musical tradition created by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt continues to this day. THE FANTASTICKS is now running strong at the Snapple Theatre and is set to begin it’s 50th year.
To celebrate, on May 3, 2009, alumni from 50 years of the Off-Broadway production joined current cast members to sing “Try to Remember” on the Red Steps of the TKTS booth in Times Square, as the start of a 2-day celebration of the musical’s longevity.
In addition to its near constant presence Off-Broadway, THE FANTASTICKS has been performed in every state and nearly every corner of the world, and continues to be performed by theatre groups, large and small. From us here at UW-Sheboygan, we wish THE FANTASTICKS a very happy 50th year.
