Admissions Requirements
Below are requirements for most incoming students. There are additional requirements depending on your incoming student classification. Click here for these additional requirements.

Have graduated from a recognized high school, have a certificate of GED, or present other evidence of ability to begin university work.

Have a minimum of 17 college preparatory credits. Thirteen of the 17 credits must be distributed as listed below. The remaining four credits will be from one of the above areas or foreign languages, fine arts, computer science or other academic areas. :

English: 4 credits

Social Science: 3 credits

Math: 3 credits (Math must include at least one credit of algebra and the equivalent of one credit of geometry)

Natural Science: 3 credit
Take the American College Test (ACT). Student’s 21 years and older are not required to take the ACT. UW Sheboygan must receive the ACT scores before you will be permitted to register for classes.

Take the UW System Placement Tests in English and math. You may also take the UW System Foreign language Test. Test dates and times are available from the Office of Student Services.
Students who fail to meet these requirements may appeal to the Director of Student Services at UW Sheboygan for an exemption. Particular consideration will be given to applicants on the basis of minority group status, physical or learning disability, U.S. Armed Forces veteran status, age group, incarceration, or economic or educational disadvantage. Applicants who have special needs should contact the Director of Student Services.

A $35 fee must accompany the application of prospective freshman and transfer students from institutions outside the UW System. Special students do not pay the application fee unless they become degree candidates.
