Undecided Majors

Having trouble deciding on a career and major?

Whether you are undecided on a major or are unsure if your current major is the right fit, exploring your personal interests along with your academic and career options will help you clarify your goals and identify a plan of action.

You're not the only one!

If you are undecided about a college major, don't be discouraged because you are not alone. Almost 30% of today's college students can and do begin their university studies without having committed themselves to a specific major. In addition, many students who do choose a field, change majors (sometimes several times) before graduation.

Change is common.

In today's fast-paced society, even technical college and baccalaureate college graduates may average four to six career changes during their working lives. Therefore, one key to success is for young students to choose an educational goal that will provide them the greatest number of career options.

General Studies Prep works!

At UW-Sheboygan, we offer a very strong liberal arts core curriculum that will provide you with the opportunity to explore a number of major fields before choosing a definite major. At the same time this broad, general studies approach will prepare you for the rapidly changing world. You will do develop writing and mathematics proficiency and explore the fine arts and humanities, as well as natural sciences, social sciences, communications, business and computer science. You even have the opportunity to explore pre-professional studies!

The University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan's course offerings provide a foundation for over 200 UW System majors.

Please note that students do not need to choose a major to earn an Associate of Arts and Science Degree.

However, many students see UW-Sheboygan as a place to build a solid foundation for a baccalaureate degree in their desired area of study.
