UW-Sheboygan invites community residents to join the University Chorus
Need a hobby? Need to get out more? Want to find something fun to do? Looking for a new way to meet people in town? Then consider joining the UW-Sheboygan University Chorus.
The UW-Sheboygan Music Department and University Chorus is expanding its role to include those in the community who like to sing, those who think they cannot sing but are willing to try, and those who would like to improve. This could be you!
The University Chorus sings a variety of music and is planning for even more: unaccompanied harmony singing (a capella), songs from popular shows, world music, barbershop, Western classical music, simple chants and rounds, and sacred music.
Rehearsals are held on the UW Sheboygan campus in Room 7006 in the Fine Arts Building (lower level) and will be held Tuesdays starting January 29 from 5 to 6:15 p.m. and also Thursdays from 1 to 1:50 p.m. until May 14. Community participants are welcome to participate in either rehearsal session or both sessions each week. This is a community service; there is no charge to join or participate.
The University Chorus gathers together as a musical unit for the pleasure that music brings and the joy of sharing it with the community. Each semester, the group performs one concert in conjunction with other performing ensembles and soloists. The chorus also performs off-campus for special events or for outreach.
To participate in the University Chorus, e-mail Director Dr. Christy Talbott at email@example.com to indicate your interest. Auditions will be held privately with Dr. Talbott for the sole purpose of placing you in the best section for your voice. You are accepted already!
For more information about the chorus or the UW-Sheboygan Music Department, contact Dr. Christy Talbott directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The UW-Sheboygan campus is located at One University Drive, just off Taylor Drive (between Indiana and Union avenues). The Fine Arts Building is located adjacent to the East Parking Lot. You can learn more about UW-Sheboygan at www.sheboygan.uwc.edu.
