University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan

Auditions set for UW-S production of Over the Tavern

The University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan’s University Theatre will hold auditions for its upcoming Spring 2011 production of Over the Taverns on Monday, February 14 and Wednesday, February 16 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Fine Arts Theater, located inside the Fine Arts Building on the UW-Sheboygan campus.

Over the Tavern is a delightful comedy about the lives of a family living above a tavern that they own in Buffalo, NY, in 1959. It follows the lives of family members, including the parents and their four teen and pre-teen children, along with a nun.

Parts available include Chet Pazinski (mid 40s), Ellen Pazinski (early 40s), Rudy (12), Georgie (13), Eddie (15) and Annie (16), as well as Sister Clarissa (70s). Please note that on-stage children parts are often played by actors who are older than the character.

Scripts are available for review in UW-Sheboygan’s University Library. Actors planning to audition are asked to have some familiarity with the play before auditioning. Actors will be seen in very small groups, so if you have never auditioned before, this is a great place to start.

Technicians are also being sought for lights, sound, construction, costuming and stage management. COM 131 credit is available to UW-Sheboygan students.

For more information on the production, the audition process or University Theatre, contact University Theatre Director Bruce Browne at (920) 459-6677 or e-mail bruce.browne@uwc.edu.

The UW-Sheboygan campus is located at One University Drive, just off Taylor Drive (between Indiana and Union avenues). The Fine Arts Theater is located adjacent to the East Parking Lot.
