Donations sought for Fundraising Rummage Sale
Sale to raise funds to create “Wombat Garden” in Bookworm Gardens
Are you closets overflowing? Did Santa bring you a new coffee pot and you need to make room on the counter? Is your basement just too full of holiday decorations?
Don’t toss it or pack it away. Consider donating your unwanted items to the UW-Sheboygan Foundation Wombat Garden Fundraising Rummage Sale!
The UW-Sheboygan Foundation will hold this fundraising Rummage Sale in the UW-Sheboygan Gym on Saturday, April 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All proceeds from the sale will be used to support the purchase of a “Wombat Garden” in the children’s literature garden, Bookworm Gardens, located adjacent to the UW-Sheboygan campus. The garden will be themed around the children’s book, “Diary of a Wombat.” The UW-Sheboygan’s campus mascot is the Wombat.
Items sought for the sale include furniture, small electronics, antiques, clothing (infant through adult), jewelry, purses, lamps and other home décor, luggage, housewares and kitchen items, crafts, books, linens/blankets/bedding, holiday decorations, toys, sports equipment, tools, etc.
A major donation drive will be held on April 1 starting at 9 a.m. at the WSCS/TV8 entrance to the Main Building on the UW-Sheboygan campus. For those hoping to clear out their closets, garages or basements sooner than April, donations will be accepted at anytime, and may be dropped off on the UW-Sheboygan campus in Office 2218 (Carrie Hoppe). Large donations should be scheduled in advance for pickup or delivery to the UW-Sheboygan campus.
In addition to the rummage sale, copies of the book, “Diary of a Wombat” and “How to Scratch a Wombat,” as well as small stuffed wombats, are being sold in the UW-S Bookstore in an effort to raise funds to support the creation of the garden. Please check the web site for Bookstore hours.
For more information on donating items, to schedule a pickup of larger items or to purchase a book or a wombat, please contact Shirley Hardersen at 920-287-7251 or Richard or Sheryl Jarosch at 920-893-8705.
