UW-Sheboygan offers Pre-College Program for area high school students

Area high school students preparing for college are encouraged to attend the University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan’s 2012-2013 Pre-College Program this school year.

The first program session will be held on Wednesday, October 17 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Room 2114 on the UW-Sheboygan campus. Refreshments will be provided. All interested students in grades 9-12 are welcome and encouraged to attend.

The UW-Sheboygan Pre-College program is designed for youth in grades 9-12. This free program focuses on college preparation, and students work directly with UW-Sheboygan students and staff throughout the duration of the program. Participants in the program also have the opportunity to visit a University of Wisconsin college campus in May.

Students participating in the UW-Sheboygan Pre-College Program will:
• Focus on personal and school needs;
• Receive financial aid information;
• Explore college/university options and careers;
• Experience personal development through monthly workshops;
• Build leadership skills and a network of friends around Sheboygan County
.

Students will learn how to handle new challenges and build study skills while increasing their knowledge of the college opportunities available and discovering how education fits into their future.

Activities run throughout the academic school year from October 2012 to May 2013. Workshops will be held one evening a month on the UW-Sheboygan campus from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. All workshops are held in either Room 2114 or Room 2223, both located in the UW-Sheboygan Main Building. Participants are encouraged to park in the West Parking Lot and enter through the ACUITY Technology Center.
