“Keep It Simple” painting exhibit opens March 1
Exhibit features local artist Keary Kautzer
The Sheboygan community is invited to visit the University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan Fine Arts Gallery for its latest art exhibition, “Keep It Simple” by local artist and photographer Keary Kautzer. An opening reception has been planned for Thursday, March 1, 2012 from 5-7:00 p.m. in the Fine Arts Gallery. The public is invited.
Kautzer’s original paintings are mainly in watercolors, depicting water and landscape scenes, many painted en plein air in the style of the American Modernists. Kautzer’s paintings are his visual record of where he has been and what he has seen.
Kautzer’s mentor, James Michael always stressed “keep it simple,” and that is Kautzer’s goal with each painting. Kautzer is a member of the Wisconsin Watercolor Society and the Water’s Edge Artists. You can see his work online at www.kearykautzer.com and at Two Fish Gallery in Elkhart Lake.
All artwork will be on display through March 30. The Fine Arts Gallery is open Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m to 9 p.m., and Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is located inside the Fine Arts Building at UW-Sheboygan.
