UW-Sheboygan to host hypnotist Chris Jones Feb.9

Prepare to be amazed and laugh yourself silly as the University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan invites the local community to enjoy a night with nationally touring hypnotist and mentalist Chris Jones on Thursday, February 9 at 7 p.m. in the UW-Sheboygan Fine Arts Theater.

Jones, a Chicago native, has burst onto the college touring circuit in 2010. He offers audiences an incredibly interactive show, allowing audience members to become the star of the show!

Jones took a roundabout way to becoming one of today’s most entertaining performers on the college market. A nationally ranked athlete in college, he studied Sociology and Psychology claiming himself to be a "social engineer with deviant motives." He was a Resident Assistant for three years and used magic as a means of connecting with students living in the hall.

After years of performing only magic and stand-up comedy at weddings, bars and smoky nightclubs, Jones realized he wanted “to learn some new tricks.” While in graduate school, he became fascinated with the art of hypnosis and found the missing piece of his show. Performing three shows a week while obtaining a Masters studying Therapeutic Recreation, he tirelessly analyzed every second of his show to find the perfect balance of conjuring, psychology, comedy and suggestion.
After years of perfecting his art, semester after semester of new fans and friends, Jones is now offering audiences a hypnotic experience they will never forget.

Admission to this show is $3 for the general public and FREE to all UW-Sheboygan students with current ID. All seating is first-come, first-serve in the Fine Arts Theater. The program is sponsored by the campus Special Programs Committee. Advance tickets are available by calling the Box Office at 459-6652 or stop in the UW-S Business Services Office during regular business hours.

The UW-Sheboygan campus is located just off Taylor Drive on University Drive. Take University Drive up the hill past Lutheran High School, turn left at the stop sign and follow campus signage to the East Parking lot. The Fine Arts Theater is located adjacent to the parking lot. Enter the building through the back entrance and walk to the front of the building to enter the theater.
