UW-Sheboygan to offer food tour of Chicago
Sheboygan area food-lovers are invited to a “food tour” of Chicago with the University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan this spring.
“The Chicago Near North Food Tasting and Cultural Walking Tour” will be offered Thursday, May 17 and will visit seven different established restaurants and food specialty stores in Chicago’s historic Gold Coast, Old Town and Lincoln Park neighborhoods. The three-hour guided and narrated tour will feature food tastings at Bacino’s Pizzeria, the Spice House, Delightful Pastries, Ashkenaz Deli, Old Towne Oil, Tea Geschwendner and The Fudge Pot.
After the lunch tour, tour participants are welcome to explore the Michigan Avenue area on their own for shopping and sightseeing.
The tour will depart UW-Sheboygan at 7:50 a.m. and return approximately at 8:50 p.m. Trip leaders will be Patti Leick, UW-Sheboygan Continuing Education Director, and Kathy Palmer, UW-Manitowoc Continuing Education Director. Cost is $99 per person, which includes bus transportation and the guided taste tour.
