University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan

Auditions set for UW-Sheboygan’s production of Almost, Maine

The University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan’s University Theatre will hold auditions for its upcoming fall 2010 production of Almost, Maine on September 23 and 24 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Fine Arts Theater, located inside the Fine Arts Building on the UW-Sheboygan campus.

Almost, Maine focuses on the remote, mythical town “Almost” located in the state of Maine. All is not quite what it seems in this quiet, rural town. As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, Almost’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected – and often hilarious – ways. Knees will be bruised and hearts will be broken, but all will heal in this delightful midwinter night’s dream.

A total of four to 19 actors will be needed for this production, as the script provides flexibility for the casting. Singing is not a requirement, but actors will be auditioned in two-person groups. Everyone is encouraged to audition, since experience in theater is not a requirement.

Actors planning to audition should read the Almost, Maine script before attending auditions. Scripts will be available for closed-reserve reading in the University Library (located inside the ACUITY Technology Center on the UW-Sheboygan campus).

In addition to actors, designers, technicians, construction and run crew members will be needed and those interested should attend auditions.

For more information on the production, the audition process or University Theatre, contact University Theatre Director Bruce Browne at (920) 459-6677 or e-mail bruce.browne@uwc.edu.

The UW-Sheboygan campus is located at One University Drive, just off Taylor Drive (between Indiana and Union avenues). The Fine Arts Theater is located adjacent to the East Parking Lot.
